Mission

Aleck and Donna-Rae Cartwright work as Media Missionaries. Their work is International in focus. They have worked in many nations around the world including England, South Africa, Madagascar, Nigeria, India, Nepal, America, Brazil, Switzerland etc. They work with an organisation called Youth With A Mission.

Aleck is a Graphic Designer, author, lecturer and photographer. He runs Graphic Design Schools as a means of Community Development and Skills Training. Working half of his time in the first world he resources the third world with training that is low cost and easy access to aid in development and providing opportunities in places where there are few. The Training offered is in print, web and motion graphics. He is passionate about making his Christian faith practical. He also works for the University of the Nations, an international and modular university. He works in the College of Communications. Increasingly he is working in a Photojournalism capacity.

Donna-Rae Cartwright works in the Provost Office of the University of the Nations. She is an academic advisor for the international degree students that are in the College of Communications. She is also a documentary film maker. Together they make a team that is dynamic and skilled in the area of communications, administration and training. Together they have over 33 years of experience working cross-culturally into every continent. They were both born in Zimbabwe, but met in England. Their aim is to create a bridge of resources between first and third world.

They travel together on longer projects into the third world, this year they recently returned from Nigeria after a 5 month projects to start two schools, A School of Design and School of Digital Communication. Next year they will do similar projects in Thailand and India. The following year, in America and Brazil. The remainder of their time is spent in Nothern Ireland where they return when not involved in overseas projects.

They also have two children who are as adventurous as they are…. Mya (6 years old) and Micah (3 years old). May is gregarious and extraverted, quickly making friends, inquisitive and highly active. Micah loves travelling, always ready to head to the airport and though quieter, has a keen sense of humour and adventurous spirit!
